[Hyundai Meets] MMCA Hyundai Motor Series 2015: Ahn Kyuchul – Invisible Land of Love

Hyundai Motor Series is an annual exhibition series by Korean artists at MMCA. It is made possible by a unique decade-long partnership between MMCA and Hyundai Motor to become one of the world's most inventional exhibitions by Korean artists and provide a platform for local artists to expand and spread their artistic ideas all over the world. Since 2013, the MMCA Hyundai Motor Series has hosted some of the most memorable and acclaimed exhibitions of Korean contemporary artists such as Lee Bul(2014), Ahn Kyuchul(2015), followed by Kim Sooja in 2016.

The second exhibition of the MMCA Hyundai Motor Series is by Ahn Kyuchl, an artist known for his constructive installation works. The exhibition “Invisible Land of Love” establishes a dialogue around the relationship between people in today’s society. ‘Isolation,’ ‘longing,’ ‘the act of continuous emptying and filling,’ are keywords Ahn suggests to think about through this exhibition.
