ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop lauds Virgil van Dijk's impact since joining Liverpool, following his exceptional 2018-19 campaign of winning the UEFA Champions League vs. Tottenham and claiming the PFA Players' Player of the Year award. Hislop thinks Van Dijk will eventually become the captain of Jurgen Klopp's side and is fully deserving of a long-term contract to remain at Anfield. Plus, he also admits how he underestimated his abilities at both Groningen and Southampton.
