Heading into the last few months of 2014, we can expect a run of awards-caliber movies that practically come with their own Oscar nominations locked down. One curious entry in this mix is Nightcrawler, which boasts what some are calling career-best work from star Jake Gyllenhaal, who gives demented life to Louis Bloom, a determined freelance journalist with a warped sense of morality.
Gyllenhaal spoke to us about why Nightcrawler has the power to punch you in the stomach (in a good way), and the thin line between being ambitious and going way too far.
We also had the pleasure to speak to Rene Russo, who plays opposite Gyllenhaal as a fierce editor who partners up with Bloom.
