Michael Strahan, former NFL star, co-host of ‘Good Morning America,’ and host of ‘$100,000 Pyramid,’ is joined by his twin daughters Isabella and Sophia to discuss Isabella’s experience with a brain tumor diagnosis and her recovery. Isabella opens up about the moment she was diagnosed, recalling: "We did an MRI, and [the doctor] said, ‘Go straight to the emergency room.’ I didn’t know what was wrong, but everyone else did.” She shares the emotional journey of being diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a fast-growing tumor in her cerebellum, undergoing emergency surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, and facing the challenges of recovery.
Sophia talks about her role in supporting Isabella and how their family came together during such a difficult time. Michael, from a father’s perspective, reflects on the emotional strain of watching his daughter battle through treatment. "To see her struggle with the chemo, and be like 'I don't think I can do this anymore' ... as a parent you're like 'You gotta go through it,’" he says. He also describes the helplessness parents feel when they can’t “fix” what’s hurting their child: "You're so used to as a parent, fixing things, taking care of things, especially something that hurts your child, and here you can't do anything, you're at the mercy of doctors and medicine."
This candid interview offers a powerful and personal look at the Strahan family’s journey through Isabella’s fight with cancer, and the strength they found together. 'Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer' airs Feb. 5 at 10 pm ET on ABC and the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
