A fascinating new article from the New York Times has revealed that many former contestants from the weight loss reality show The Biggest Loser not only gained weight after leaving the show, but some of them somehow packed on even more weight. Researchers followed a number of former contestants from season 8 of the show for a six year period following their time on the program. They were trying to work out why these people were putting weight back on despite strict diets and work out regimens. The guilty culprit in this situation is apparently their metabolism! Their metabolisms were still slow, that of an overweight person, despite all their weight loss.
