The game at the Aragon club's home ground was also Zidane's official Real Madrid debut.

The return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu happened three days later and the team treated the home fans to a 3-0 win to get their hands on the trophy. The key man in that game was Raúl, who netted a hat-trick in the closing stages.
