Real Madrid and Borussia Mönchengladbach face off tonight for the first time since we pulled off a legendary comeback against the German team 35 years ago. In the 1985/86 season, we faced Borussia in the UEFA Cup Round of 16, where the German side won 5-1 in the first leg. However, Real Madrid turned things around in legendary fashion in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Valdano (2) and Santillana (2). Our side that night also featured other club heroes such as Juanito, Emilio Butragueño and Míchel.
