The news of Robin Williams‘ death last night hit everyone hard. In Boston, fans decided to pay tribute to one of Hollywood’s funniest stars by turning the bench from 1997′s Good Will Hunting (which earned Williams his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) into a makeshift memorial. Since Monday night, fans have been visiting Boston Public Garden to leave flowers and write messages by the bench.

A petition has also been started to create a bronze statue of Williams sitting on the bench.

ROBIN WILLIAMS MEMORIAL IN BOSTON – The news of Robin Williams‘ death last night hit everyone hard. In Boston, fans decided to pay tribute to one of Hollywood’s funniest stars by turning the bench from 1997′s Good Will Hunting (which earned Williams his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) into a makeshift memorial.
