This was our Computer Animation 4 group project - composite a realistic pokémon into live footage. We thought it would be funny if we parodied the youtube videos of animals crossing the street (like sloths, deer, etc), and inserted a pokémon instead.

First, the slowpoke was modeled and painted in ZBrush by Allison.
Then it was rigged in Maya by David.
We shot the footage on an iPhone, and I used MatchMover to track the footage and generate a 3D space, and match Maya's camera with the camera in the footage.
Jonathan took the video footage into Maya as a background, and matched up the lighting system and added branches to generate realistic shadows on its back.
I used the rig to animate the slowpoke. Zac added ambient sounds, such as birds, as well as additional car sounds, and a breathing noise for the pokémon. Zac and I recorded a voice over as well. Simple as that.
