Alec and Hilaria Baldwin open up about their new TLC reality show, ‘The Baldwins’, and share what drove them to allow cameras in their New York City home and beyond. The eight-episode series gives viewers a glimpse of Emmy-winning '30 Rock' star Alec, 66, and author, yoga pro and wellness expert Hilaria, 41, as they navigate the hectic day-to-day with their kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, Maria, 3 and Ilaria, 2. “Telling your story is one thing and showing your story is something else,” says Hilaria. “It felt authentic, it felt human. It felt very empowering.”
Filming unexpectedly began in the weeks before Alec faced trial in New Mexico for involuntary manslaughter following the accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western ‘Rust’ in 2021. The actor explains it was not what he had in mind at all, and the couple speaks candidly about the impact the unthinkable tragedy has had on the son who lost his mom as well as the heaviness their own family carries with them.
“I don't know where I would be if I didn't have her,” Alec admits of his wife. “I don't know what would've happened to me.” Now, more than ever, his focus is on school drop-offs and diaper changes. “We decided to try to show our children, no matter how hard it was, to continue to live life,” adds Hilaria.
‘The Baldwins’ premieres February 23rd on TLC at 10/9c.
