Nominated for seven Oscars at the 75th annual Academy Awards, and ultimately winning three of them, The Pianist's awards season run was certainly memorable. And while it may have ended with Adrien Brody cementing his status as the then-luckiest man alive by becoming the youngest-ever Best Actor winner (not to mention getting to steal a kiss from Halle Berry in the process), it all started at Cannes. For all of the classic movies Roman Polanski's made, this stunning WWII biopic of Polish-Jewish composer Władysław Szpilman remains one of his best - and it's got the awards to prove it.
