Significados:
Echar tiene más de 10 usos pero hoy nos vamos a enfocar solo en 4 que son los que usarías más en la vida diaria.

1) To throw away

Esta hamburguesa ya se dañó. Échala en la basura.
This burger already went bad. Throw it in the trash.

2) To cast / Throw

Jesús echaba los demonios fuera de los cuerpos de las personas.
Jesus would cast demons out of people's bodies.

Los pescadores echan la red en las partes más profundas porque hay más peces ahí.
The fishermen cast the net in the deepest parts because there are more fish there.

3) To put / to add

No olvides echarle agua a las plantas hoy.
Don't forget to water the plants today.

Los huevos saben mejor si les echas sal.
Eggs taste better if you put salt on them.

4) To fire someone

Mi jefe echó a Juan del trabajo porque él era muy irresponsable.
My boss kicked Juan out of work [fired Juan] because he was so irresponsible.
